Gratis Literatur-Lektion inklusive: Der Titelsong besingt Adamastor, ein vom portugisieschen Nationaldichter Luís de Camões erschaffenes Fabelwesen, welches von der Nymphe Doris (Tochter von Gott Ozeanus) als Strafe für eine Liebelei zum Wächter an das Kap der Guten Hoffnung verbannt wurde, dort auf Vasco da Gama traf etc. Die beiden anderen Songs, „Les Tambours De Guerre“ (Trommeln des Krieges) und „A Feu Et A Sang“ („Feuer und Blut“), schließen sich an, handeln von sagenhaften Mythen in und um den Atlantik. Musikalisch passend umgesetzt, man kann förmlich die Urgewalt der Ozeane spüren: Bedrohlich, zornig, stürmisch. Victor’s Gesang und die französische Sprache geben natürlich wieder die grobe Richtung vor: ATLANTES erinnert an düstere MARABOOTS mit mythologisch-nautischer Note, France Oi! von der dunklen Seite. The Topic of the debut, “Guerriers Atlantes” goes further: “It’s all about atlantic civilization”. Gratis literary lesson included: The title song, “Adamastor”, deals with a fable giant created by the Portuguese national poet Luís de Camões, which was banned by the nymph Doris (daughter of God Oceanus) as a punishment for a love affair to the custodian of the Cape of Good Hope, where he met Vasco da Gama etc.
The two other songs, “Les Tambours De Guerre” (“Drums of War”) and “A Feu Et A Sang” (“Fire and Blood”), deals with legendary myths in and around the Atlantic too. Musically in the same way: menacing, angry, stormy. Victor’s Vocals and the French language in general, of course, point in the rough direction: ATLANTES reminds of gloomy MARABOOTS with mythological-nautical touch, France Oi! from the dark side.
