„Bologna Oi! Connection!” CLEAR CUT sind ein brandneues Outfit aus der italienischen Metropole (im März 2017 gegründet), bestehend aus gestandenen Musikern: Vorläufer bzw. Nebenbaustellen waren/sind lokale Combos wie CHARLES BRIGADE, GORILLA PRESS SLAM und SCALP. Hier nun die allererste Veröffentlichung (es gab zuvor nicht mal ein Demo…), stolz präsentiert von SPIRIT OF THE STREETS: Die „Kids are innocent” 7″.
Bullig-schroffer BLITZ-Gitarrensound mit ganz grimmiger Kante; HAMMER AND THE NAILS, RIXE oder LIVE BY THE SWORD kommen vergleichend in den Sinn. Raw, brutal and simple. Soweit, so erwartet. Konträr dazu verläuft aber eine melodische Gesangslinie, nicht das erwartete Grizzly-Geröchel. Und das macht den gewissen Unterschied. Ergänzt sich einerseits perfekt und bringt anderseits ein klassisches 80’s Oi! Feeling als Dressing in die Runde. Rough’n’catchy: Killer-Kombination!
Vier Songs sind auf der Single vertreten, drei davon in englisch besungen: „Hope & Glory”, „Rapist” und „Guilty as charged”. Die letzte Nummer, das Anti-Drogen-Statement “Contro la paura” (“Gegen die Angst”), wird in Landessprache vorgetragen. Bologna Power Oi! mit 13 Minuten Spielzeit, „Voice of a generation” in 2017. Limitiert auf 300 Exemplare.
Das Schlußwort gehört Sänger Lobo: „Manchmal scheint es, als ob wir nur noch arbeiten und die Fresse halten müssen, als ob es wirklich nichts anderes mehr gäbe. Manchmal sieht das Leben wirklich Scheiße aus, aber du kannst dich nicht aufgeben oder du wirst dich selbst verlieren. Ich glaube stark an Oi!, an den Skinhead Kult und die Szene, dafür was sie ist und was sie bewirken kann”.
