BLITZKRIEG “2nd” LP
Exakt 12 Jahre nach ihrem Debut “Part one” legen die reformierten BLITZKRIEG aus Novi Sad ihr zweites Album, ganz treffend “2nd” betitelt, vor. “Part one” erschien 1999 auf BANDWORM im LP-Format, mit BLITZKRIEG verbindet uns eine langjährige gemeinsame Wegstrecke. Trotz Umbesetzung und dem nagenden Zahn der Zeit hat sich beim Sound der Jungs seit Bandgründung anno 1992 nicht viel geändert. Die serbischen Cousins von SHAM 69 (in Punkto harte Riffs und Straßen-Singalongs) und SOCIAL DISTORTION (in Punkto Melancholie) setzen nach wie vor auf große Melodien und kraftvolles Songwriting, als Resultat liefert “2nd” 10 griffige, bisweilen schwermütige Streetpunk`n`roll-Ohrwürmer mit dem ganz eigenen BLITZKRIEG-Gütesiegel. Dafür sorgt natürlich auch der Gebrauch der Landessprache, er garantiert zusätzlichen Wiedererkennungswert. Das englischsprachige “Duka” hat eine grandiose UK Guitar Punk-Note, erinnert an NEUROTICS, RED LONDON zu ihrer “Pride & Passion” Phase, “Engleska”, ebenfalls englisch, rockt im MOTORHEAD-Style. BLITZKRIEG bleibt dabei immer BLITZKRIEG. Insgesamt ein vortreffliches Comeback-Album einer vortrefflichen Band!

Never give up! Right now, BANDWORM Records proudly presents the second full length by Serbia`s BLITZKRIEG, simply called “2nd”. 12 years ago we`ve released their debut “Part one”, so we`re long-time buddies in much way. BLITZKRIEG were found originally in 1992, called a day in 2002 and have re-united in 2006. These truly veterans of the serbian streetpunk scene doesn`t have changed their sound since the beginnings, it`s still their own BLITZKRIEG brand: powerful melodic cuts with heartfelt melodies and the feeling for great singalongs. Sounding sometimes like cousins of SHAM 69 and SOCIAL DISTORTION (esp. for their melancholy side), they are still very unique. Mainly thru the use of their native language, so you can`t mix up them. BLITZKRIEG means BLITZKRIEG! The english “Duka” give a nice UK guitar punk note, maybe influenced by the NEUROTICS or RED LONDON. So, BLITZKRIEG are back and ready to ruck! Remember the lines in their classic “Never give up”: “Than you will know that you still living for your dreams, that you`re not scared to tell them no. Than you will know is there`s nothing left for you, No surrender `til the end”. All in all, the 10 tracks of “2nd” celebrate a great come back of a great, honest band!
